How To Create and Manage Images in Arcus
The first step for the following document is to login to the Arcus interface with an Administrator or User level account.
You will be either able to make:
- Public image with the Administrator account, this image will be made available to ALL users.
- Private image with your user account, this image will only be available to users within your project.
Creating A New Image

Expand the Main Menu on the top left of the window, expand OpenStack Administration and select Images to upload a new public image, or expand your project and click Images to upload a private image.

Click on the Plus button in the bottom right corner to create a new image.

- Select from the Image Source list the correct input format
- Drag the image file to the upload section or click the Choose file.. to select from your computer.
- Enter a unique name.
- Select a type from the dropdown list.
- Pick 32 or 64 bit Architecture.
- Does the Image require an SSH key (no default user or login created).
- Enter the Minimum amount of RAM and Disk space needed for the image.
- If using an Administrator Account select Public or Private Availability.

Click Create Image to start the upload and image creation.
Edit an Images Properties
You must be logged into an account with Administrator privileges to be able to edit Public images.

Expand the Main Menu on the top left of the window, expand OpenStack Administration and select Images to upload a new public image, or expand your project and click Images to upload a private image.

Click on the image you wish to edit to bring up the Images properties screen.

You can change any of the editable fields, click Update Image to save changes.
Delete an Image
You must be logged into an account with Administrator privileges to be able to delete Public images.

Expand the Main Menu on the top left of the window, expand OpenStack Administration and select Images to upload a new public image, or expand your project and click Images to upload a private image.

Click the Red X button to the right to delete, Confirm your choice by clicking Delete Image in the popup window.
